About Us

We are a community of believers who together seek to walk in the Light and to glorify God by living under His Word. Our hope is to build up the Body of Christ, thereby attaining unity in the fullness of Christ. Empowered by and yielded to the Holy Spirit, we desire to reach people for Christ and to equip them for service. Foundational to our establishment as a community of disciples, it is our conviction to teach the Truth of God's Word and to see people set free, healed, and living victoriously through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Our Beliefs

From the days of John Wesley, Methodists have believed in the authority of the Holy Scriptures.  At Bethesda, we seek to apply that Word to all we do. Methodists' beliefs, found in our "Book of Discipline", include the following:

We Believe

In the one true, holy and living God.

God reveals Himself as the Trinity; Father, Son and Holy Spirit, distinct but inseparable.

In Jesus Christ, truly God and truly man.

In the Holy Spirit who convinces the world of sin, righteousness and of judgment.

He comforts, sustains and empowers the faithful.

Christ rose from the dead in His bodily form, ascended to Heaven and will return to judge everyone at the last day.

Sin corrupts every person and all have fallen short of His righteousness.

Through Jesus Christ we may be born again and made partakers of his nature.

Through faith in Jesus Christ, we may be delivered from the power of sin and love God completely and our neighbors as ourselves.
